ClipTouch Server is a lightweight media asset management, media review, and archiving platform, focused on simplicity, speed, and openness for integration.

Using ClipTouch Server you can manage video clips (including chapters), images, audio files, documents, and filesystem folders. It scales from managing assets locally on your MacBook, up to hundreds of thousands of assets on a dedicated host, including collaboration across multiple clients on a StorNext SAN.
You can interact with assets using ClipTouch Server for Mac, ClipTouch for iPhone and iPad, ClipTouch for Web, and the ClipTouch panel for Adobe Premiere. You can manage assets even while they are archived within your StorNext archive.

ClipTouch Server is proven across a wide variety of workflows including powering automation for broadcasters, delivering polished-and-secure rushes review for film production and post-production companies, and managing peta-scale archives for public sector and life science organisations.

ClipTouch Server is built on modern UNIX, macOS, and web technologies. Powered by SQLite, Apache2 and Vue3 it provides a secure and flexible platform for integration. Automatic import and asset metadata parsing facilities, an easily extendable data model, scriptable command-line mode and RESTFul webservice API, all provide easy access to ClipTouch Server's core technologies for any custom workflow integration. Built-in integration with Quantum's StorNext webservice API enables multi-tier StorNext archive management of your assets with unmatched simplicity.

• StorNext

  ClipTouch Server integrates with the Quantum's StorNext Storage Manager webservice API and provides easy-to-use access to archiving information about your assets, as well as supporting convenient triggering of retrieves directly via the user interface.

• CTSAPI Support

  Storage Manager archive integration is exposed as a high level API as part of CTSAPI, easily allowing you to build custom workflows around your archive without having to worry about the technical detail.

ClipTouch Server's built-in web interface offers an amazing platform-independent user experience. ClipTouch for Web is a fully featured portal to your assets, supporting multi-criteria search, efficient viewing and editing of asset metadata, JKL playback w/ SMPTE timecode, search bookmarking, folder structure curation, archive management and more.

ClipTouch for Web is built entirely using browser technologies and exclusively communicates to ClipTouch Server via its open RESTful webservice API, and can serve as a great starting point for building your custom web interface.

Designed for directors and producers, ClipTouch for iPad and iPhone is a polished offline-first and secure asset review tool. It is designed for non technical users that need to work creatively without technology getting in the way. ClipTouch Server includes an Adobe Premiere panel to support search and drag & drop from your SAN-connected client straight to your timeline.

• Webservice API

  Our RESTful JSON webservice allows you to search, view, edit and add assets to ClipTouch Server for your integration tool or custom client, all securely via HTTPS. We utilise these same APIs to create our own Web UI and Adobe Panel.

• Customisable Metadata

  Configure custom fields for any asset type, set fixed restricted values for fields, and customisable length text areas.

• Scan and Import

  Automatically import assets, and scan filesystem paths to pick up new content. ClipTouch Server supports growing files and will automatically parse mxf, mp4, mov, acc, and mp3 file metadata.

• Event Driven Actions

  Trigger a script or command to run whenever an asset metadata field changes. Create your own workflows using popular scripting languages and the ClipTouch Server commandline API.
